Welcome to RAF Virtual Brize Norton, in real world the largest Station in the RAF, employing some 3900 Service personnel and over 600 civilians.
RAF Virtual Brize Norton is the home of the RAF Virtuals Strategic Air Transport (AT) and Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) forces
The majority of the aircraft based here are capable of operating in both roles.
- N° 101 Sqn. dedicated tanker fleet of Vickers Super VC10 K3s and K4s are three-point tankers capable of refuelling large aircraft.
Our AAR tasks include the deployment of aircraft for operations and exercises, the provision of AAR support for Air Defence forces that provide UK Homeland Defence, and routine AAR training for UK and NATO air forces throughout Europe.
N° 24 Sqn, which operates C-17 aircraft in a strategic airlift role. These aircraft provide an outsize airlift capability for the Joint Rapid Reaction Forced.
N° 216 Sqn operates the RAFv’s fleet of wide-bodied TriStars.
There are several other important units based here at RAFv Brize Norton. N° 1 Parachute Training School (PTS) carries out parachute training for all 3 Services.
